Streaming & coaching audio

Two ways to hear the coach: Mode 1 sends it to your PS5 headset through Discord (no capture card needed). Mode 2 puts a live overlay and the coach voice into OBS for streaming. Pick the one that matches your setup.

Which mode is yours?

If your PS5 plugs straight into a TV, use Mode 1 and listen on your headset. If it runs through a capture card into a PC, use Mode 2 and let OBS carry the picture and the sound.

Mode 1 — no capture card: coach → Discord → your PS5 headset.
Mode 2 — capture card + OBS: live delta-map overlay + coach voice on your stream.

TIPYou can set up both — they don't conflict.

Mode 1 · How it works

GT Gati runs a small Discord bot on your PC. When the coach speaks, the bot plays the clip into a Discord voice channel. Join that channel on your PS5 and the coaching plays in your headset alongside the game.

Your own bot and server — the token never leaves your machine.
Only recorded clips play on Discord; long spoken lines can't be relayed.
Turning it on mutes the laptop so you never hear coaching twice.

Mode 1 · Create your bot

Make a bot in the Discord Developer Portal and copy its token. The token is the bot's password — keep it private.

discord.com/developers/applications → New Application → name it.
Bot tab → Reset Token → copy the token.
OAuth2 → URL Generator → tick 'bot', then 'Connect' and 'Speak'.
Open the generated URL, pick your server, Authorize.

Mode 1 · Copy your server and channel IDs

GT Gati needs the server ID and the voice-channel ID. Discord shows them once Developer Mode is on.

Discord → User Settings → Advanced → enable Developer Mode.
Right-click your server icon → Copy Server ID.
Right-click the voice channel → Copy Channel ID.

TIPUse a dedicated voice channel so coaching isn't mixed with party chat.

Mode 1 · Configure GT Gati

Open the ⚙ connection settings, expand 'Discord coaching', paste the token and both IDs, then Save & connect. The status line should read Connected.

Your token is saved locally on this machine only — never uploaded.

Mode 1 · Join on your PS5 and turn it on

Link Discord on your PlayStation and join the same voice channel, then enable the toggle in GT Gati.

On PS5: link Discord and join your voice channel.
In GT Gati connection settings, enable 'Play coaching in Discord'.
Drive — the coach plays in your headset with the game.

TIPHear nothing? You have to be in the voice channel yourself — the bot plays into it.

Mode 2 · Stream with a capture card

OBS already shows your PS5 gameplay. GT Gati adds two things on top: a live delta-map overlay (browser source) and the coach voice (Desktop Audio). Set it up once and forget it.

PS5 → capture card → PC. Add the card in OBS as a Video Capture Device.
Keep GT Gati open on the same PC — it doesn't need to be visible on stream.

Mode 2 · Add the live overlay to OBS

The overlay draws the reference line, your live line, the rolling delta and sector splits. It follows whatever you pick in GT Gati automatically — you never touch it in OBS.

OBS → Sources → + → Browser.
URL: http://localhost:4200/overlay/delta-map (if GT Gati opens on a different address for you, use that address + /overlay/delta-map).
Width 480, Height 480. Position it anywhere on the layout.
Pick a track, class and reference in GT Gati — the overlay follows on its own.

TIPBlank overlay? Select a reference lap in GT Gati first.

Mode 2 · Capture the coach voice

The overlay page is silent — the voice plays from the main GT Gati window. Capture it in OBS as Desktop Audio.

OBS → Settings → Audio → set Desktop Audio to your default playback device.
Leave GT Gati's coach output on 'System default'.
Turn on 'Robotic voice' so cues without a recorded clip still speak on stream.
Do a short test recording and confirm you hear the coach before going live.

TIPRouting coach audio to a virtual cable? The robotic voice won't follow — it always plays on the system default device.

Save your laps

Hit Save after a clean lap and GT Gati downloads it as a .json file. Load it any time in Replay mode ('Open my file') to study it against a reference.

No account needed — the file is yours, on your machine.
Want to race your own lap live? Arm 'Record new track' (Pro): your next full lap becomes the reference.

About the voice clips

Some cues play as recorded coach clips; the rest use the robotic voice until their clip exists. Discord plays only the recorded clips; an OBS stream captures both.

Braking, throttle, gear and sector calls are clip-backed.
Keep 'Robotic voice' on for streams so no cue goes silent.

TIPIf a mode seems quiet, it's usually waiting on clips — not a connection problem.
